Once again this year, Marmo+Mac confirms its position as a global leader in the natural stone sector with more than 50 thousand operators from 140 countries, who met 1,485 companies from 55 countries.
Our new exhibition stand showcased how beautifully diverse materials can come together to form an harmonious blend inspired by nature. The Calacatta Macchia Vecchia and the Tempesta marbles merged to create an extraordinary jungle, featuring big snakes and panthers.
For the design and installation of this artwork, many square meters of marble and tons of iron were used, and each small part required “surgical precision”.
The big table in Calacatta Macchia Vecchia, also known as big snake, was 18 linear meters long arranged on two levels. The 546 diamonds and the 164 triangles in Tempesta, supported by 69 iron poles, represented the scales of the snake.
The 31 iron chandeliers were painted and equipped with LED lights one by one to surround our beautiful moon, an interesting piece of design made of paper. The panther was carved from a block of high-density polystyrene, which was then covered with 400 small iron tiles that were subsequently clad with Calacatta Macchia Vecchia at ten millimeters thickness.
This is just a part of the extensive work done for our booth, but still gives an idea of the effort that was made to achieve such a result. Our hope is to have shown you a design project that evokes emotion and conveys the beauty of marble.
